Eighties Inspiration for my necklace! May Swap Ideas?

necklace.jpg

Here is my necklace for the April Challenge, finally. I took colour inspiration from this post by Ms Spinach. A nearly edible mix of silver, vintage glass beads, coral, turquoise, crystals, wood beads and silver charms. Was easy to make but took a little while.
May will be our second swap. Our first was so much fun with over 100 people. June is just too busy so May is it! Ideas? We will be starting within the next week. Yeah, I know we didn’t give you much of a chance to complete April’s. But if you are still going on it that is great. Don’t forget to upload photos to Flickr for all to see.

Girlrobot interviewed me a while ago. Read the interview here, if you like.

So, get your ideas to me for the swap asap and have a lovely day!

Can anyone join the swap? I’ve been reading your blog and would love to participate. Ideas? Potholders?

Yes anyone can join. I am going to get to that in the next few days, where you can register etc. Thanks for the swap idea. Have a good one!
M

Yay Feli glad you are joining this swap,
Mia

Can I play, too on the swap. I have participated in 2 and really love them.

How about for a swap idea: recycle a thrifted item. Felted sweaters? picture frame? neckties? etc.

I love buying things at the thrift shop and letting it sit out to inspire me.

Sure anyone can play. That is a great idea thanks for it! I love felted sweaters. I love making bags from felted sweaters. Lovely!

Loved the last swap that you put together – I’m definately in for this one (whatever we’re swapping)!

I had to think about it for a while but now, I kinda like the potholder idea. Maybe we could expand upon the idea to make something “kitcheny”?
possiblities:
*potholder
*oven mitt
*fridge magnet
*apron
*hot pads (like a quilted trivet)

Oh aprons sound so fun! Funky cool aprons yeah and so easy to make. That makes me tick. I also love the fridge magnet idea. Good one Tara. Thanks
Mia

Hee! I came on to suggest fridge magnets or something kitchen-y. Psychic connection!

Great Idea! I love it. So many excellent ideas as usual. But I particularly love this one because it is so simple and no-one will get too fussy about it I reckon.
Thanks
mia
